Overview:

  • 2 x Full-time, Fixed Term position until December 2023

  • Salary Level HEW 3 + 17% Superannuation

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the role

The Marketing and Recruitment Assistant is a member of the Student Recruitment team. They are responsible for the promotion of RMIT courses to future students through various marketing initiatives such as tailored events, school expos, large-scale exhibitions, regional roadshows, campus tours, physical and virtual presentations and EDM marketing campaigns.

The Marketing and Recruitment Assistant’s key outcome is to develop and execute a custom transition event for prospective secondary students. They will also support administrative processes and procedures and work on major projects and events under the leadership of the Student Recruitment team including Open Day. This role will assist with planning, implementing and delivery of current and new initiatives to drive enrolments for the university.

The position also involves extensive driving and regular after-hours work.

In this position, you will:

  • Develop and execute end-to-end an engaging and insightful transition event for prospective students

  • Communicate with prospective students one on one or in groups, about courses, positive student experiences and the benefits of studying at RMIT. This may be in the form of formal and informal presentations, at physical or virtual events.

  • Answer enquiries from stakeholders and give general course information through face to face, phone, chat and email or virtual interactions.

  • Provide assistance in coordinating and attending large student recruitment events such as Tertiary Information Service (TIS) events, the Career Advisers Seminar/Briefings and Open Day.

  • Problem solve and troubleshoot stakeholder enquiries in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Assist in maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system database, and administration processes.

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Student Recruitment team, this may include processing RMIT booking requests, assisting with publications, reporting, marketing and other daily administrative duties such as answering telephones, checking voice messages and responding to emails in a timely manner.

  • With the support of the Student Recruitment team, manage or collaborate on projects which encourage future students to apply for an RMIT course.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have experience in public speaking, or an eagerness to develop such skills

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task

  • Have attention to detail

  • Work independently and be a positive contributor to a team focused environment

  • Be willing to undertake repetitive tasks

  • Have current Australian Driver’s license or prepared to obtain a license by early 2023

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
