Location:   Melbourne or Sydney

A new opportunity for a Head of Warehouse Solution Design RCA to join our Business Development leadership team, where you will provide specialised analysis, warehouse design expertise, leadership and commercial due diligence to support the development of distribution and logistics solutions for new customers and existing operations across our Retail, Consumer & Auto (RCA) department.

In addition, you will manage and develop intralogistics analysts and designers and the delivery of strategic improvements and new capabilities in the intralogistics’ function, tools and methods.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide leadership in intralogistics solutions design through evaluation and introduction of suitable storage and handling mediums and automation relative to the customer’s needs.
  • Provide intralogistics analysis and design expertise in the pursuit of new business, inclusive of requirement clarifications, tender evaluations, manpower calculations, infrastructure and automation design and investment cases
  • Review existing operations layouts and perform warehouse re-design as needed taking into consideration of net impact. Review appropriate storage types and methodologies.
  • Ensure proper assessment of efficiency for solution concepts, undertake simulation studies on capacity profiles and limits, material flow balancing, and incremental investments.
  • Conduct Financial impact (cost benefit) analysis for proposed initiatives, quantify savings projection and together with intangible benefits.
  • Establish strong customer relationships and anticipate customer solution needs.

Qualifications

To ensure your success you will possess:

  • 10 + years’ experience in a related industry, with at least 5 years in a lead logistics or supply chain role.
  • Strong knowledge of automation applications, storage mediums, material handling equipment, packaging solutions, space analysis, manpower and order/inventory/SKU analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Intralogistics process and operations, material flow design, warehouse layouts, optimization, design and solutions engineering.
  • Strong financial/cost accounting and analysis experience.
  • Critical thinking ability that enables continuous improvement opportunities to be identified and implemented with the support of the broader team.
  • Ability in preparing professional proposals and presentations.
  • Professional and strong presentation and engagement skills to customer senior management, Steering Committee and/or other internal and external engagement stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Visio skills, AutoCAD skills are desirable
  • An undergraduate degree in Business and/or Engineering and/or Logistics Management or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
