Job Description

Our client is a multinational total quality assurance provider and delivering quality Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification services. They are currently seeking for a Quality Assurance Chemist to join their energetic team in South Australia.

About the role

  • Review, maintain and ensure the highest accuracy for all analytical data with the best possible precision via the use of comprehensive programs of internal, national and international standards and duplicate/repeat analyses.
  • Monitor and correct any trends detrimental to the precision and accuracy of reported data.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conformances.
  • Appropriately maintain instrumentation and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for equipment calibration and method development.
  • Support the routine and non-routine testing within the laboratory.
  • Recommend and suggest improving quality, productivity, and safety in the laboratory.
  • Assist with proficiency testing programs.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate reference materials for jobs.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the quality management system and accreditation as appropriate.
  • Provide advice to clients regarding methodology and processes.
  • Liaise with other employees and departments to provide sound technical and professional advice.
  • Skills and Experience

    We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:

  • Degree holder or above in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Prior industry experience relating to Petroleum/ Oil/ Gas in lab environment
  • Familiar with ISO 9001/ISO17025 Quality management system requirements
  • Technical knowledge of QA/QC Procedures
  • Understanding of ASTM methods relating to Fuel, Oil and Gas.
  • Good understanding of quality process and testing methods
  • Understanding of quality processes.
  • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot in routine and non-routine situations.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
