The Role

Reporting to the CEO as Manager, People and Community you will provide high level strategic advice and coaching to the management team, staff and elected student representatives. You will be responsible for supervising the coordinators of the Volunteering, Student representation, and Clubs and Societies departments as well as the project Coordinator for UMSU International. You will contribute to a range of projects that improve the ongoing development and oversight of the Human Resources, volunteering and student engagement functions and make a positive impact towards the UMSU community. 

This role will manage the entire employee lifecycle, strategic planning and management of administrative functions.  Essential to your success will be your proven track record in policy and procedure development, budgeting, OH&S, performance management, understanding legislative requirements and enterprise bargaining. You have values consistent with the organisation and a working knowledge of accessibility and social inclusion that form the basis of your approach to stakeholder engagement.

Skills Required

You are a true HR generalist who thrives in developing and implementing solutions that deliver outstanding outcomes for employees and organisations. It is a role that will require you to work autonomously while consulting and collaborating as needed.  Preferably you are experienced as a senior business partner or HR Manager within an education, student organisation or not-for-profit environment; combined with relevant human resources management or related qualifications.
