The Role

The Straumann Group is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our Marketing team. This is an exciting and challenging role that will work in close collaboration with the sales and marketing teams as well as our Global product management and marketing counterparts.

Working as an integral member of the Straumann Group team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop quarterly and longer-term plans to maintain and/or grow the portfolios within defined market segments;Monitor and evaluate the planProvide updates to relevant 3rd parties and the management team.
  • Evaluate portfolio options and provide business case for new product launches, additions and removal/ retirement of slow-moving items within the portfolio. The role is responsible for the launching and providing on-going support of the specified portfolios.
  • Ensure the focus of the portfolio meets strategic objectives.
  • Develop sound understanding of the General Dentist segment and profiles associated with this customer group. Understand solutions (including those not in the portfolios above) that can help meet customer needs. Identify partnership opportunities to provide customers with a comprehensive solution. Manage smaller GP focused portfolio’s teeth whitening.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Consultant to ensure that product meets TGA guidelines. Manage any resulting advice from the TGA including but not limited to recalls.
  • Develop and grow market share for the portfolio.Co-call and assist with sales of the portfolio. Provide ways to motivate the sales team to increase sales of focus products. Is responsible for market release and reinvigoration activities for the nominated portfolio products.Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL’s). Utilise these relationships to grow portfolio business and expand market share;Provide necessary product training and support to sales specialists and customers in the operation & maintenance of the portfolio products.Work with the T&E Manager to develop education programs and events to help promote the portfolio.Monitor and assess the needs & resources of clients and recommend appropriate actions, products and/or services to fulfill customer expectations.Identify, research, and engage prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.Communicate internally new product and solution opportunities, product developments, information and feedback gathered through field activities.Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate stakeholders within the organisation so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
  • To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Health Sciences or Marketing) or equal qualification is required;
  • Strong verbal and collaboration skills;
  • Be self motivated, confident, energetic, agile and creative.
  • The ability to work cross functionally and influence others;
  • Dental industry knowledge and experience is preferable but not mandatory;
  • Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving.
  • Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • This role will involve travel across Australia as well as participation in trade shows and clinical education sessions after hours to meet business needs.
