The Position

St John of God Murdoch Hospital has an excellent reputation, benefits from being located in the fastest growing area of Perth and is conveniently positioned next door to the State’s flagship Fiona Stanley Hospital.

At present, we have multiple Assistant in Nursing (AIN) opportunities available. As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you will be responsible for supporting the nursing/midwifery care team in the delivery of a high standard patient care across the acute care environment. The AIN carries out their duties in accordance with the duty list and under the direction of a Nurse/Midwife.

These opportunities are being offered on a casual basis, working as required. Hours can be negotiated with the successful candidate(s)

The successful candidates will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Successful completion of certificate III Health Services Assistance (Acute Care) or completed/currently undertaking Nursing studies.
  • Demonstrate well-developed communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to identify work priorities and plan to meet them.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in working in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of principles of manual handling.
  • Knowledge of basic cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • An understanding of and commitment to Quality Improvement.
  • Awareness of current Occupational Safety & Health and Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation.
