 SOUS CHEF – DOUBLETREE BY HILTON ALICE SPRINGS

DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs conveniently located just off Stuart Highway offers Adjacent to the Alice Springs Golf Club and overlooking the MacDonnell Ranges, this modern hotel is 9 km from Alice Springs Desert Park and 13 km from Alice Springs Airport.Relaxed, airy rooms offer balconies, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, as well as Wi-Fi access. Upgraded rooms add mountain views. Suites add separate living areas and microwaves. Room service is available.

With free parking there’s an upscale Thai and Indian restaurant, a contemporary eatery, and a patio bar serving drinks and snacks. Other amenities include a 24/7 fitness centre, an outdoor pool, and a tennis court.

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our passionate team and become the part of our team with professional and committed approach. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in preparing & cooking authentic cuisine with unique offering. Position is Full Time Permanent. (38 hours)  

Salary Offered: $65,000.00  

The ideal candidate will possess following attributes:  

• Experience more than 4 years working in the kitchen.

• Take responsibility of creating new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer needs.

• Ensure the preparation and planning of meal arrangements as necessary.

• Ascertaining that all kitchen chores get carried out smoothly.

• Resolve customer issues and concerns on a one-on-one basis.

• Able to monitor the inventory and fresh supplies get ordered as needed.

• Supervise junior cook and kitchen personnel with a range of activities such as line cooking, meal preparation, and dish plating.

• Hiring and training new kitchen personnel to ensure that it complies with café and kitchen standards.

• Establish work schedules for kitchen personnel and analysing their performance regularly.

• Put into effect cleanliness regulations as well as safety standards.

• Managing the kitchen personnel in the absence of the Head Chef.

• Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team; self-motivated, team player.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• Good knowledge of stock control, menu design, OH&S + HACCP compliance.
