The Role:
As a Business Intelligence and Visualisation Director, you’ll provide strategic direction and expertise to the delivery of data in more intuitive and visualised ways to better derive actionable insights for improving both the staff and client experience. With your technical expertise, you’ll develop strategies and drive initiatives to continually strengthen and improve the value and use of business intelligence, visualisation and analytical capabilities of not only your team, but the broader Department in working with data. You will advocate the development and adoption of modern visualisation tools across the Department in transforming the data and analytics experience and increasing the value of using data. This includes ensuring delivery of tailored and visualised reporting that allows better understanding of data, risks and actionable insights. In addition to managing and developing a specialist team, you’ll also represent the branch and the Department in internal and external networks and forums, including the delivery of presentations, speeches and preparation of reports.

Skills and Experience Required:
EL 2 Business Intelligence and Visualisation Director > is experienced leading end-to-end business intelligence and visualisation solutions within large and complex organisations > successfully navigates the complexities and nuances with each phase of the business intelligence and visualisation life cycle > has led and designed complex models and architectures to support flexible and engaging business intelligence and visualisation solutions > creates and implements strategies to drive initiatives to sustainably lift engagement and adoption of enterprise data and analytics platforms such as hackathons, hub and spoke models and user engagement > possesses advanced leadership abilities to actively develop the creation of a data culture through uplift in data literacy and capability > has exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills to foster positive working relationships with key partners, including senior executives. Qualifications in a related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Statistics would be highly regarded but not essential.

Location and Contract Term: This is a permanent role and can be based in Adelaide, Box Hill, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Melbourne CBD, Newcastle, Perth or Sydney CBD

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a baseline security clearance.
