JOB DESCRIPTION

Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival and Melbourne Airport Rail. RPV is responsible for all aspects of the projects including planning and development of the project reference design, site investigations, stakeholder engagement, planning approvals and procurement, through to construction delivery and project commissioning. Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) comprises of Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Rail Projects Victoria (RPV, MTIA), North East Link Project (NELP), West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) and Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV).

Rail Projects Victoria Industry Based Learning (IBL) Program 

• Full-time, 6-month opportunity based in Melbourne CBD or Sunshine (if allocated to Melbourne Airport Rail project) / hybrid

• Gain hands-on experience and help shape the delivery of some of Victoria’s largest rail construction projects

• Participate in interactive career and professional development workshops

• Apply for industry-based learning credit towards your degree

What’s Involved?
During your time with our HR team, you will be working alongside a HR Advisor and team of professionals. You will be getting involved in a wide range of HR activities supporting both our project teams and internal support groups including working on recruitment campaigns, early career programs and providing HR advice to internal and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to deliver your own HR projects and improve processes and systems where possible. You will participate in tailored learning sessions to further develop your personal and professional skills.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in kickstarting their career in Human Resources. It would be preferred if you have strong written and verbal communication skills, display strong attention to detail and are someone who enjoys building positive working relationships. Experience in using MS Office applications is also preferred. If you consider yourself to have a can-do attitude and are good at managing yourself in ambiguous situations, this could be the role for you!

To be eligible you must be currently studying a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business (HR), or a related discipline. You must remain enrolled during the course of the IBL Program however must defer your allocated subjects whilst completing the internship. You also must hold Working Rights in Australia that allow you to work full-time (38hrs/wk).

In accordance with the MTIA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (Policy), engagement of the successful candidate is subject to the person providing evidence to Rail Projects Victoria confirming their Vaccination Status as ‘up-to-date’ in accordance with ATAGI guidance or as an Excepted Person under the Policy. The person must provide evidence of Vaccination Status as part of the recruitment process, and their employment will be subject to the requirements of the Policy.
