The Client:

Our client for this position is a utilities company based in the western suburbs, they currently have a requirement for a Cloud System Engineer to join their supportive social IT and Security Operations team, you will be providing security and redundancy of IT strategies to ensure secure and reliable services to their internal collaborators and customers.

The Role and Responsibilities:

Day-to-day will see you planning, building, supporting and maintaining all Cloud based, On premises Windows, Virtualised technologies and, mentoring the enthusiastic junior members of the team. Key to your success in this role, will be your engaging flair to connect and work in partnership with our core business areas, vendors, and IT partners.

This position holds significant technical responsibilities for managing the client’s IT infrastructure for a majority of systems. This role is critical to contributing to security and redundancy IT strategies to provide secure and reliable services to our internal stakeholders and customers. This role will be required to collaborate with core business areas, vendors and IT stakeholders. An integral part of this role is to train and coach junior members of the team.

Required Skills & Specialisms:

• Experience in managing Azure Platform, Windows Servers, Microsoft 365, VMware, Windows Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies and environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and expertise in IT incident, problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft server patching at an enterprise level (Azure Update Management, SCCM).
• Experience in using Microsoft framework related Powershell commands for system task automation and configuration management.
• Intermediate knowledge of Cloud computing – PAAS, IAAS SAAS.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively and be an integral part of a high performing team.
• Experience in infrastructure solution design.
• Ability to work in a DevSecOps model and adapt to the new ways of working.
• Knowledge of Logicmonitor, Solarwinds or similar system monitoring tools.
• Tertiary qualification(s) in business, computing and/or relevant experience.
• Certified Azure Administrator or equivalent.
