About the School: Aspect Western Sydney School provides placement for close to 160 children on the Autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12. Our main site is located at Wetherill Park with 13 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools across the Western and South Western regions of Sydney.

About the role: To assist the Principal with the provision of timely administrative support to the school ensuring systems are effective and efficiently kept up to date and, to provide a welcoming customer experience in all interactions with students, families, caregivers and all visitors to the school. To view the full position profile, please click here.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide administrative support to the principal and leadership team
  • Lead administration projects and coordinates ongoing management of projects to meet the school’s business plan
  • Supervise and coordinate the tasks of other clerical/administrative and general assistants in the school
  • Update and maintain school records in an orderly and systematic way including ensuring records are maintained in the school’s database.
  • Organise events and meetings as required by the Principal – this may include taking minutes, creating agendas, managing invitation lists and other logistics
  • Ensure that first point of contact with visitors is professional, positive and informative
  • Provide a welcoming and supportive customer experience for all stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement Excel spreadsheets to assist with financial and administration reporting systems
  • Prepare letters, newsletters, email communications, memos, reports, employment contracts and other documents as required
  • Actively contributes to and participates in cross school administration initiatives to streamline and improve administration systems.
  • Assist Principal with Workcover administration
  • Perform other general administrative duties as required

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Knowledge or experience in using a database such as TASS, Salesforce, or other student database program would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the education or disability sector
  • Minimum two years of experience in a senior administration role
  • Exceptional customer experience skills
  • National Police Check and NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment

There is a requirement to work an additional ten (10) days outside school term time (this is included in the salary).

An hourly rate of $35.84 per hour will be offered for the role and is adjusted to cover school term and non-term time.  As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), Aspect employees receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities including $15,899 each year tax free, increasing the value of your take-home pay.
