This position is in the Commercial Events space and sits within the broader Venues and Events team which is responsible for fee-for-service conferences, professional event support across other areas of the university and external hire of university facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Project managing and delivering medium risk conferences and events as directed by the Manager, Events in accordance with the annual commercial and corporate events calendar.
  • Providing professional event support and advice during the pre-planning of medium risk Faculty and Divisional events, as well as on the ground support during the implementation of these events.
  • Being responsible for commercial events software which supports academic conferencing, including call for papers, registration, conference APP and online attendee portal.

    Qualifications and experience

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and event/project and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level of skills and professionalism (including accuracy and formatting) in documentation development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) including negotiation, presentation and customer relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, and collaboratively, to achieve project timelines and objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Experience working with online event management tools and/or a CRM database.
  • Experience working with online web interfaces and web management.
  • Highly developed skills in windows-based computer applications such as Word, Excel and email. Familiarity with InDesign is desirable.
