Hospital Coordinator – Day manager – Permanent Part-time 0.9 FTE

Hobart Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a permanent part-time Hospital Coordinator Day Manager position. The role is a pivotal member of the health care team and responsible for providing leadership and management of the hospital.

Hobart Private Hospital is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds co-located with the Royal Hobart Hospital in the heart of the city. Hobart Private Hospital provides Emergency Services, Angiography and Cardiac Services, Maternity, Medical, Surgical, Day Surgery and Endoscopy.

As an After Hours Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise safe, quality acre that meets current best practice standards
  • Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments
  • Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient
  • Manage patient flow, coordinate and plan operational processes, working within the budget direction of the hospital
  • Coordinate patient admissions
  • Support the hospitals commitment to quality improvement and achievement of National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
  • Maintain the safety of staff, patients and visitors

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
  • Recent management experience at Nurse Unit Manager or Hospital Coordinator level or higher
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
  • Ability to manage multi tasks and co-ordinate resources appropriately
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members

Desirable Criteria:

  • Completion or working towards post graduate qualification in management
  • Recent management experience at Nurse Unit Manager or Hospital Coordinator level
