The Producer – Digital Exclusives role would suit someone who can create original exclusive broadcast quality pieces for Sky News various digital platforms and understands what stories will travel well online and appeal to the Sky News audience.

We are looking for someone who is broadcast savvy and passionate about video being an ideal way to consume engaging online news.

The Sky News newsroom is in operation 24 hours a day, and all members of the team are required to be available for flexible hours, including irregular hours and unpredictable shifts, driven by news demands with regular weekend work.

What’s the role? 

  • Producer – Digital Exclusives is responsible for the gathering, scripting, production and editing of original stories for Sky News’ online platforms
  • This role would suit a TV producer who is looking to create short and long form broadcast content for online consumption
  • Has a keen and broad news sense, being able to identify stories which will travel well online and create exclusive original content into digital-ready video for online and social media, leveraging all the platforms at their disposal
  • A news-junkie, obsessed with news and politics – and has a strong understanding of the current global landscape and national issues
  • The candidate is able to take initiative and work autonomously, as well as take direction on priorities and editorial style, closely following strict network guidelines on style
  • While experience in a fast-paced newsroom or video based media company is advantageous, the most important attribute is a keen interest in high quality journalism and the drive to grow Sky News output in terms of quantity and quality 

Who you are

  • At least 12 months experience as a digital / broadcast producer
  • Ability to navigate complicated political discussions
  • A positive attitude with enthusiasm for sharing ideas and learning new skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised, to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in a busy newsroom environment is encouraged but not essential
