ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an Administration Support Office to ensure the objectives of Council and the City Services Directorate are met. Reporting to the Business Supervisor, this role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation to provide business and administration support to the City Services Directorate. 

You will be responsible for preparing reports, forms and templates as well as ensuring coordinating document registration in Council’s systems. In this diverse role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate internal and external customer enquiries and support with reactive work orders.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Knowledge of service delivery processes for the Works and Infrastructure Directorate
  • Demonstrated experience in business support services, preferably within Local Government
  • Understanding of and experience with supporting asset management, roads and waste operations, parks operations and sports ground maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing a superior customer experience
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills both written and verbal with a proven ability to establish effective internal and external relationships
  • High level numeracy skills along with strong experience of financial administration including preparing work orders and invoice processing
  • High level computer skills particularly including word processing, report writing, database and spreadsheet creation and experience with document management software and systems
  • Experience with Technology One ECM and CRM Management
  • Sound problem solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement business improvement processes
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team or autonomously without immediate supervision
  • Good organisational skills including being able to manage own workload and ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

    Position information: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 35 hour week, with access to Council’s 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

    This role is predominantly located at Council’s Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.

    Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 8 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,235.73 TO $1,266.62 per week, plus 10.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
