They deliver a broad range of services to ensure a sustainable Primary Health Care (PHC) workforce to meet current and future health needs of rural communities.

About the role:

As part of a small, Mile End based team, the full-time role of Engagement Officer is offered as a 12-month direct contract with potential for ongoing employment opportunities. You will contribute to the attraction of the rural workforce through the organisation, facilitation and delivery of key programs that include face-to-face and online events and activities aimed at influencing students and junior doctors to pursue careers in rural medicine.

Duties:

• Develop and manage relationships with educational institutions and students

• Plan and schedule a calendar of face-to-face and online activities with educators and venues 

• Actively manage face-to-face and on-line activities, including event preparation and hosting

• Report to Managers and Directors on program performance

• Coordinate and execute the delivery of engaging and meaningful student activities 

• Troubleshoot scheduling matters and implement contingency plans where needed

• Enter feedback and evaluation into the broader organisational systems 

Skills & experience:

• Proven abilities in engagement and relationship management

• Expert administrative and organisational skills

• Ability to present data in clear tables, graphs, and reports

• Previous success in planning and delivering small to medium sized events

• Health sector or rural community exposure is ideal but not essential
