Digital Project Manager

Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Digital Project Manager to deliver its Web Transformation.

ABOUT MUSEUM VICTORIA:

Museum Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary responsibility of the Digital Project Manager will be to manage the Web Transformation project.

Key duties include:

  • Working to the Manager of Digital Projects, project manage the Web Transformation project to meet deadlines, effectively manage resources and work within capacity constraints and budget.
  • Champion the Agile project management methodology within Museum Victoria including mentoring and coaching staff in Agile while adapting processes to support the workplace’s culture and an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Build on a culture of collaboration and clear communication with stakeholders within the organisation by providing regular cross organisational project updates and setting and iterating goals.
  • Develop and communicate project artefacts and documentation including product canvases, technical specifications, project Kanban boards, sprint backlogs, risk registers, status reports and more.
  • Evaluate product requirements to establish project work packages while managing stakeholder expectations. This will include liaising with design, development and content teams to translate product requirements into briefs and specs.
  • Develop and manage testing of solutions to ensure they meet acceptance levels for user and business requirements.
  • The successful applicant will meet the following Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, tracking and iterating a large-scale website or digital product project and a track record of delivering projects that meet approved time and resource allocation without impacting quality.
  • Experience managing Agile projects including planning sprints, running stand ups, presenting showcases, flexible sprint planning and retrospectives using project management tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with experience in managing and mentoring staff and facilitating a change management approach within an organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability in implementing project management tools, techniques and documentation, and evolving them to work within a large organisation.
  • Understanding of the Business Analyst role and the ability to evaluate business requirements to create work packages within a project.
  • Experience planning and managing testing as part of a project is highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).

    This is a part-time (0.8FTE) role on a 12-month contract. The salary on offer is $, (Base of grade) pro-rata + 10.5% superannuation.
