Job Description

THE COMPANY
A progressive and pioneering farming company is seeking a highly motivated and skilled manager to oversee the operations of their modern on-farm housing community, comprising 36 individual houses in the heart of the Gwydir Valley, 40 km west of Moree.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and maintaining all aspects of the onsite housing complex infrastructure systems, including management, diagnostics, and minor repairs of on-site:
    • Onsite Water Systems: This includes monitoring all housing water supply sources, such as domestic pumps, bores, and tanks, and ensuring water distribution systems are in good working order, including maintaining pumps and pipework, which may require machinery operation at times, including a bobcat and digger.
    • Energy Infrastructure: This includes monitoring infrastructure and ensuring proper functioning of electrical systems, including internal/external lighting fixtures, wiring, circuit breakers, etc., and solar systems, including solar panels, batteries, with the assistance of qualified contractors.
    • Building integrity: Ensure all internal and external building structures and foundations are in good working order and are inspected regularly. This includes the regular servicing, by contractors of:
      • Fire equipment: smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and hoses.
      • Pest management: pest inspection and control.
      • Waste management: appropriate collection and disposal methods for waste.
      • Garden and grounds maintenance (completed internally)
  • Ensuring all necessary repairs and maintenance are timely and efficient.
  • Coordinating all contractors and service providers to assist with maintenance and repairs.
  • Developing and implementing a proactive maintenance plan for all infrastructure systems.
  • Maintaining an inventory of all equipment and materials required.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in managing housing maintenance, including water management, energy infrastructure, and building foundations.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in diagnosing and repairing faults and failures.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to prioritise work.
  • Experience in coordinating contractors and service providers.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
