Chartwells provides bespoke fresh food solutions that are unique in the market across independent schools and universities. We are passionate about the role we play in supporting the physical and emotional well being of students. 

This role will predominantly be Tuesday to Saturday roster offering daily food offerings across our retail and boarding areas through to functions and events. The successful candidate will have experience across a broad range of cuisines, ideally you will have experience working within a busy commercial catering environment and it is imperative that you have outstanding people skills – Welcome to your perfect work life balance !

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to;

  • Lead, coach, shape and grow your team
  • Maintaining the focus on quality menu design, food preparation and service and innovation,
  • Maintain efficient operations across multi services
  • Responsible for stock control, budgets, rostering, & liaising with the client
  • Exposure to high volume purchasing/inventory and supplier negotiations.
  • Food safety management
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on allergies

The Person

  • A natural leader with a unique approach to education catering bringing flair, warmth and outstanding cuisine in a friendly upmarket setting
  • Qualifications in commercial cookery
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong culinary background within a leadership role.
  • Experience in HACCP, food safety and infection control
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Management or Business qualifications an advantage
