About the role:

There is a fixed term position up to 22/04/2024 at FTE available, where duties will involve the successful applicant providing administrative support at the Glen Waverley Police Station. The successful applicant may also be required to assist with the management and movement of lost, found and seized property. The position location is located within the Monash Police Service Area, which is serviced by Oakleigh, Clayton and Mount Waverley Police Stations. The position reports to the Station Commander at the Glen Waverley Police Station. This position sits alongside two other VPS administrative staff at Glen Waverley and its primary function will be the management of all incoming and outgoing correspondence within the work unit utilising computer-based administration applications. Other administrative duties will form a smaller component of the role.

Your duties will include:

  • Data entry using computer-based administration applications, to record movement in and out of the workplace.
  • Assisting with daily management and lodgement of lost, found and seized property.
  • Management and ordering of workplace stationary, consumables, and equipment.
  • Maintaining of petty cash.
  • Preparation of daily mail, both internal and external.
  • Provide assistance to staff with the movement of correspondence both in and out of the workplace.
  • Assist station management with the filing and archiving of station records, information and documents.
  • As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • The ability to work successfully within a small team.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven administrative skills.
  • The ability to work well autonomously at times.
  • Excellent data entry skills with proven experience in programs such as Word and Excel that allow good knowledge in word processing, data entry and the preparation of statistical reports.
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ethical behaviour as well as recognising the importance of confidentiality and privacy. 
  • Requirements and relevant information:

  • There is a part-time position ( hours per fortnight), fixed-term position until 22 April 2024 available, 20043757.
  • Position is located at Glen Waverley Police Complex (643 Ferntree Gully Road, Glen Waverley) however, you may be required to work at other locations within the Division/PSA.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer’s Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
