About the role

We are excited to have two newly created positions on offer. The Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner is a leader within our collaborative People & Integrity team responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategy and best-practice. 

The Victorian community relies on V/Line to deliver a safe and reliable service that connects them to work, leisure, family and friends. To do this, we operate a complex business. Our incredible Talent team recruits Engineers, Electricians, Customer Service Officers, Lawyers, Administrators, IT Managers, Systems Engineers, Train Controllers, Signallers, and roles you may have never heard of.

We partner with our stakeholders to attract and retain top talent at every level. Our people contribute to billion-dollar projects across the state, projects that keep the network running, maintains infrastructure, and is creating the transport system of the future.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with Senior and Executive leadership teams to develop talent acquisition strategies that deliver full life-cycle talent solutions for their business units
  • Working in collaboration with hiring managers and People Business Partners to plan for current and future recruitment, reducing time to hire and enabling service 
  • Leading a small team of Talent Acquisition Business Partners to deliver best-practice recruitment in line with policies, while maintaining agility to respond quickly to organisational requirements
  • Coaching and training Talent team members and managers in the execution of fair, merit-based recruitment and selection
  • Triage incoming requests to recruit and allocate workloads, audit Talent Business Partner recruitment and selection documents for compliance and accuracy of employment contracts
  • Provide guidance on remuneration, employment terms and conditions, V/Line Enterprise Agreements and other employee relations matters
  • Execution on Senior and Executive Leadership talent acquisition
  • A full Position Description will be made available to interviewees.

    Experience and attributes required include: 

  • Substantial experience delivering full life-cycle talent acquisition or internal recruitment, within best-practice frameworks 
  • A collaborative approach to business partnership and a passion for enabling people managers to attract and retain talent
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current market trends, contemporary talent strategies and public sector standards
  • Ability to treat highly confidential information with integrity and sensitivity, and to lead others in doing so
  • Responsive in a large, multi-faceted organisation that provides an essential service to our community
  • Passive talent attraction and delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience
