About the role

:

Reporting to the General Manager of People and Culture, you will be a proactive and experienced leader with prior responsibility for supporting large and regional teams. There will be a number of projects to work on in alignment with Anglicare’s strategy, including revising our operating model, continuing to develop our organisation-wide volunteer strategy and programs, and various volunteering initiatives to enhance quality of care and operational excellence.

You will be someone that is able to naturally form and nurture relationships through supporting and empowering your team, while also being comfortable interacting with and developing meaningful relationships with local churches and ministers to grow our volunteer groups.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Continuing to develop and implement the organisational volunteer strategy, by defining key outcomes and programs that support Anglicare’s strategic goals.
  • Lead the volunteer team through a time of transformational change across the organisation
  • Working with key stakeholders to redesign our operating model and ensure we offer the right mix of volunteering opportunities to best support the people we serve
  • Key contributor to the leadership of People and Culture across the organisation
  • Undertake volunteer workforce analysis and contribute to workforce planning
  • Evaluate existing Volunteer initiatives and implement new initiatives to ensure that the Volunteer program supports the needs of the organisation
  • Provide support to our Residential Care, Retirement Living, Home Care and Community Services in how to best utilise their volunteers
  • Proactively work with parish development officers, local churches, and ministers to strengthen these relationships and grow our volunteers from the churches
  • Ensure your team are supported to perform in their roles by creating a culture that is consistent with Anglicare’s Christian vision, mission and values through proficient staff selection, role design and employee engagement
  • Champion the volunteer team to raise awareness within the organisation and ensure that volunteers are recognised for their contributions by developing and maintaining the recognition system
  • Overseeing the recruitment, induction, and ongoing engagement of volunteers
  • Planning and implementing training and support programs to enable volunteers to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and information to clients
  • To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be aligned to Anglicare’s Christian values, vision, and mission to ensure you are able to enhance partnerships amongst church communities
  • Be genuinely interested in building positive and long-lasting relationships with internal teams, volunteers, local communities, and the Anglican Diocese
  • Have completed a tertiary qualification in leadership, ministry, business, HR, or psychology
  • Have gained 5+ years’ experience within volunteer management (in a paid or voluntary capacity), or possess HR, management, or similar experience
  • Have experience in leading and implementing significant change
  • Demonstrate previous success designing, developing, and implementing programs or projects
