About the role

You will utilise your skills to contribute to the research, development and maintenance of policy, community-focused plans, intelligence and/or warning systems for the purpose of safeguarding communities from the risk of floods, storms, and tsunamis.

This role/s involves working alongside the Zone operational team and working closely with the Emergency Planning team. It also involves participating in and contributing to NSW SES planning by preparing, reviewing, and updating agency emergency plans and readiness initiatives. You will also work with internal and external stakeholders with the common goal of reducing flood risk and developing plans that support our volunteers to be able to effectively respond to emergencies.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • skills in researching and analysing information to form evidence-based policy and plans
  • have strong attention to detail with well-developed skills in critical thinking and analytics
  • a desire to become a true specialist in environment and planning and developing policy documents
  • Contribute to cohesive and collaborative team environment and contribute to the development of initiatives to resolve issues and promote effective solutions
  • have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as people skills.
