Senior Analytical Chemist

About the Role:

This role requires an experienced Quality Control Analyst who will oversee the junior analysts to ensure efficient running of the laboratory. You will report to the Quality & Compliance Manager and be highly skilled with a technical nature and an excellent ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Review results from testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Assist in trouble shooting within the laboratory, investigate and assist with CAPAs
• Update, review and approve test methods, test specifications forms, and SOPs
• Approve method validation protocols, reports and finished product test methods
• Assist with all necessary Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and Process Qualification (PQ) protocols to PICs standard
• Assist with all validation projects and initiatives – new product, processes & equipment
• Assist in calibration and maintenance, records retention, and reporting of results
• Participate in Internal and External audits

Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in analysis of raw materials, excipients and finished products
• Experience in chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques – HPLC, UPLC, & GC
• Experience in SOP writing and review of technical documents.
• Experience in method development and validation
• Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
