  • The Role
    This position requires a combination of in-depth knowledge of APS policies and procedures and incident management policy and procedures. You will be working within an integrated workforce where you will be required to provide high level advice on Defence and APS policies to Command and Supervisors.

    The Army Logistic Training Centre (ALTC) is seeking a motivated individual who is required to have, or the ability to rapidly acquire an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence and APS policies.

    This position will exercise a considerable degree of independence exercising sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice, whilst adhering to short notice response requirements associated with requests such as Freedom of Information or Question on Notice requests.

    You will develop standing instructions that supports policy, work plans, set performance indicators, review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

    The ALTC incorporates the Headquarters (Bandiana South), Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Bonegilla), Workforce Training Group (Latchford), the Army School of Ordnance (Bandiana South), the Army School of Health (Bonegilla), the Army School of Transport (Puckapunyal) and the Army School of Logistic Operations (Bandiana South).
     
    ALTC is seeking an Incident Manager/APS HR Manager to provide policy and procedural oversight of incident management events across the Training Centre in addition to APS HR management duties.

    This position plays a pivotal role in the oversight of incident managers across the ALTC training establishments.

  • Experience working in a similar role ensuring the alignment of policy, procedures and compliance frameworks. 
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships, liaise with a range of stakeholders including other teams, peers and colleagues across Defence and other organisations. 
  • To engage in complex incident management and APS HR management, coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence. 
  • Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable.
