The Role
The Directorate of Navy Engineering is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated team member to undertake engineering work in the area of underwater acoustics and digital signal processing.

About our Team
The team is responsible for providing engineering subject matter expertise in the context of ensuring the Royal Australian Navy’s sonar systems are safe and fit for purpose, as well as supporting the analysis and production of Acoustic Intelligence.
This position resides within Directorate of Navy Engineering’s Sonar and Acoustic Intelligence (SACINT) systems cell. Physically located at the Australian Joint Acoustic Analysis Centre, on HMAS Albatross (South Coast of NSW).
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is motivated to achieve results and works well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. They have knowledge and experience in, or applicable to, the field of sonar engineering.
This is a wide discipline and relevant experience would include some or all of: familiarity with digital signal processing software and hardware, frequency domain analysis, data acquisition and recording systems, knowledge of sound propagation and environmental influences, familiarity with sonar technology and sonar equipped platforms, project management and systems engineering principles.
