THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued and successful growth, ORIGO Education is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined full-time Senior Writer to work in our Brendale office. This is a very busy and multi-faceted hands-on role. You will be required to work with stakeholders within the organisation as well as with external parties. This is a full-time, position starting ASAP.

Reporting to the Writing Services Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Writing primary/elementary Mathematics lessons and activities with original ideas that reflect best teaching practices and align to current curriculums in Australia and in the US
  • Working collaboratively with other Senior Writers to plan projects and improve processes
  • Contributing to other project tasks as required to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education or publishing; post graduate qualifications are encouraged
  • Strong understanding of primary/elementary-level mathematics and of teaching mathematics to children
  • Strong understanding of teachers’ needs and how best they can be supported
  • Experience in a similar external role is favourable
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality products; ability to present high quality presentations is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage projects and mentor colleagues
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain multiple schedules; using appropriate software is a plus
  • Proven ability to liaise successfully with in-house and external cross-functional teams
  • Sound proficiency in Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Suite
