We have an exciting and very rare opportunity for a dynamic, pro-active, passionate Student and Volunteer Engagement Specialist.

About the role

The Student and Volunteer Engagement Specialist leads the implementation of CPA’s volunteer and student program. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating student scholarship, placement, work experience and volunteering opportunities across the organisation. The program aims to provide high quality student and volunteer engagement experiences and build a pipeline of future talent for the organisation.

The role is based on the Northern Beaches with flexible WFH opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing CPA’s student scholarship program; working with partner universities to identify and allocate scholarship funding; provide support and work experience opportunities to high performing allied health undergraduates, post-graduate and Masters students in order to develop a pipeline of top talent for the organisation.
  • Centrally coordinate student placements and volunteering opportunities across priority business areas; support managers and supervisors; provide key information and resources to ensure a quality education and workplace experience opportunity for potential future CPA employees.
  • Partnering with key local schools and provide work experience for young people in order to raise awareness about disability, vocational education pathways and career opportunities for school leavers.
  • Developing systematic approach to identifying internal talent within CPA’s workforce, recognising their contributions and commitment to ongoing professional development; identify placement opportunities and career progression pathways to support the engagement and retention of students on completion of their qualification.
  • Developing and maintaining student and volunteer policy and procedures; develop quality assurance processes for the student and volunteer experience; collaborate with line managers, supervisors and relevant experts to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Reviewing procedures and monitor program budgets to ensure the allocation and distribution of scholarship funds are within agreed parameters and the designated financial year.
  • Advising on appropriate use of volunteers to meet National Volunteer Standards.
  • Writing compelling copy for use across multiple communication channels/mediums to maximise engagement and participation by students and volunteers.
  • Collating and analysing data to measure impact and ensure alignment of the program with CPAs strategic direction and workforce plans.

We are seeking a self-motivated team player with:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
  • Demonstrated high level customer service experience liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • High energy levels with a “glass half full” attitude
  • A warm, pro-active and approachable nature with the ability to build rapport
