Your new role

  • Assisting the Laboratory Supervisor with the day-to-day operation of the Laboratory to ensure regulatory reporting of plant operations are actioned and supported.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues, providing efficient and accurate analytical test results for all analysis within the laboratory
  • Ensure laboratory quality control assignments are met performing independent quality control calibrations in accordance with NATA’s and ISO requirements
  • Gaining and maintaining approval as a signatory for all NATA accredited tests and supporting OHS requirements within the laboratory. 

Skills and experience

To be successful for the position you will require the following:

  • Thorough understanding and prior knowledge of international testing procedures and Industry Standard laboratory practices
  • NATA and ISO requirements for Accreditation
  • Understanding of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS1)
  • Knowledge of ICP-OES, FIMS and automated analyser is highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in sample preparation and wet chemistry.
  • Common laboratory interferences for organic and inorganic testing, and specific ISO17025 accreditation and calibration requirements.
  • You will also be adept in OHS & S practices and principles, with a Bachelor of Science degree or related Chemistry qualification.
