The Role

Our Futures Research team works closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to examine the trends and emerging signals of change and understand how they will impact us and the industries in which we operate. We are looking for a Futures Research Consultant who will bring new thinking and approaches to help us manage our Futures Research and Strategic Foresight efforts.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Support the futures research community of practice across Aurecon.
  • Coordinate horizon scanning activities and manage Aurecon’s horizon scanning database
  • Develop communications materials and insights on trends and key research areas
  • Conceive and develop futures-focused service offerings
  • Contribute to client projects and internal initiatives using strategic foresight processes and insights
  • Contribute to and deliver qualitative and quantitative research activities and projects

What we are looking for

  • Strong strategic thinker, influencer, and problem solver, with technical competency and commercial awareness.
  • Strategic foresight/Futures studies training and experience ideally in a lead capacity
  • A strong understanding of the role of technology in society and the broader drivers of socio-economic and technical change.
  • Ability to articulate highly technical concepts, designs, and approaches, in a way that can be understood by stakeholders of varying degrees of technical literacy.
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret research and/or academic reports, and data.
  • Consulting, analyst, and data visualisation experience is desirable
