The role

As part of our Corporate division, the Security Administration Officer will support the team with its administrative duties, provide escort duties for visitors or contractors, and assist the business to ensure that only authorised individuals are present in our South Australia facilities.

This role will also provide support to the Agency Security Advisor at Saab to implement and manage personnel security, physical security, and information security as directed.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Support the Security Operations team with administrative duties (e.g. registers / IDs / keys);
  • Participate in document control and “SAFEHAND” deliveries;
  • Perform routine security tasks based on Saab’s policies, standards and procedures;
  • Support audits, risk assessments and regulatory compliance under the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP);
  • Perform escort duties for visitors or contractors;
  • Report anomalous events, security breaches and incidents that have the potential to impact Saab’s business operations; and
  • Support the production of logs and reporting in support of Security Operations as requested.
  • Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

    About you

    Your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in the Defence Industry within a similar role;
  • Ability to apply security frameworks, policies and standards into operational context and provide practical advice based on them; and
  • A working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and ISO/IEC 27001/27002 and 31000 standards.
  • Good written and oral communication;
  • Ability to effectively adapt to changing priorities, tasks and requirements;
  • Ability to work co-operatively within a team environment and to build rapport with people from all levels of both the business and from the Defence environment; and
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
