Job Description

Leidos is seeking a motivated experienced application sustainment lead to help design, implement and run s support subsystem within our client organisation. During the acquisition phase of the project, you will be the ILS Manager, responsible for leading a team of SMEs to  design and establish the Support Sub-system for the Mission System.. This role will require detailed planning, analysing, designingand deployment of the support system. The program is for a complex health software solution operated by Defence in garrison and deployed environments.  You will utilise your experience in the industry to help with high-quality solutions and lead teams that will deliver high-quality sustainment services to Defence.

Once the capability is deployed, you will transition to the be lead of the sustainment organisation who will be run the implemented support subsystem on a multi-year contract.

This role can transition into the Service Delivery Manager role to operate the implemented support system.

  • Participate and lead activities related to the analysis, design, development, deployment and integration of support systems for ICT solutions.  This includes working with industry partners, geographically separated teams, and customer stakeholders.
  • Develop and present support solutions at Mandated System Reviews.
  • Develop and deliver ASDEFCON plans and support descriptions.
  • Oversee and deliver technical data and publications utilising DEF(AUST) 5629B or as an IETM or IETP.
  • Oversee and deliver Logistics Support Analysis activities including reliability, maintainability, and task analysis utilising applicable Defence standards.
  • Oversee and deliver training and support using the Systems Approach to Defence Learning methodology.
  • Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.
  • You will also have:
    • Demonstrated experience of establishing and operating support service solutions.
    • Leadership experience at the programmatic and technical level for various logistics task areas.
    • Demonstrated high performance on large-scale operations or support services projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and issues, formulate, and implement plans to manage both appropriately.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate sustainment activities with other functional area managers.
    • Substantial knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including operating support, training, supply, maintenance and engineering.

Qualifications

  • 3 + years of experience supporting complex ICT systems, ideally for a Defence.
  • Strong individual contributor and team player in a professional environment
  • Highly effective in managing multiple concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and supervise effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to apply extensive technical expertise in the context of other related disciplines
  • Advanced level of planning and organisational skills
  • Good initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures
  • Ability to independently develop and determine approaches to solutions in a practical and creative manner
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and interpretive skills with high level of attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of ITIL service delivery processes and tools
  • Knowledge of the Defence IT support environment is desirable

Successful candidates will be required to be Australian Citizens and be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

This role can be located in Melbourne or Canberra however, we will consider exceptional candidates in other locations or willing to relocate.
