Human Resources Advisor

Job Description

The Position 

Reporting directly to the People & Culture Manager, you will provide business-focussed, strategic and operational HR advice and services aligned to the delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for supporting and coaching managers and employees on a range of topics including recruitment, performance management, policy and procedure application and adherence to industrial instruments. You will assess and anticipate HR needs, and through collaborative relationships, you will deliver value-add services to management and employees.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide user-friendly interpretation and HR advisory services to stakeholders in relation to the Fair Work Act, Awards, National Employment Standards, and internal policies, procedures and systems of work;
  • Lead and support workplace investigations including thorough, impartial investigation to establish facts, determine whether breaches have occurred and the provisions of procedural fairness and natural justice, providing just recommendations regarding disciplinary action;
  • Recruitment, talent, succession and career development – work with managers to forecast labour requirements, distinguishing between direct and indirect needs, and assist the business to obtain appropriate approvals;
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate talent and succession strategies to build workforce capability;
  • Analyse existing internal practices and offerings compared with external practices to ensure relevance and competitive stance within the market;
  • Development of new ways of working to ensure alignment of internal practices with legislative requirements and competitors in the marketplace;

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment/Industrial Relations or related business management discipline;
  • Proven track record in delivering HR advisory or coordination across multiple operations with an attested ability to engage, influence and contribute to organisational strategy and translate that strategy into operational deliverables via a broad ranges of stakeholders;
  • Good working knowledge of relevant industrial instruments including The Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, working knowledge of Manufacturing, Retail, Professional Services, Clerical Awards would come highly regarded.
