Position Summary:

Dans les semaines précédant le cours de laboratoire : 
– Culture de cellules et réalisation et optimisation d’une expérience de laboratoire. 
Pendant le cours en laboratoire :
– Être présent à partir de 9 heures jusqu’à ce que les étudiants aient terminé leur travail en laboratoire. 
– Superviser et enseigner aux étudiants dans le laboratoire
– Vérifier les livres de laboratoire, noter les rapports finaux, aider à noter les présentations des étudiants.
– Préparer des expériences si nécessaire, par exemple, ensemencer des cellules.
– Gestion du laboratoire, par exemple, conseiller les étudiants sur l’autoclavage, le nettoyage et l’entretien du laboratoire.
– Assurer un travail de laboratoire sûr et efficace pour tous les participants au cours.
– Fournir une introduction/un séminaire matinal pour l’expérience

-Un assistant d’enseignement est un étudiant diplômé au niveau de la maîtrise ou du doctorat, à l’Université McGill, employé pour aider un superviseur de cours. Avoir idéalement suivi le cours dans le passé

In the weeks before the lab course: 
– Culturing of cells and perform and optimize one lab experiment 
During lab course:
– Be present from 9 am until students are done with the lab work 
– Supervise and teach students in the lab
– Check lab books, grade final reports, help grading student presentations
– Prepare experiments as needed, e.g. seeding cells
– Lab management, e.g. advise students in autoclaving, cleaning and lab maintenance
– Ensure safe and efficient lab work for all course participants
– Provide introduction/morning seminar for experiment

Qualifications:

Expérience de la manipulation de bactéries et de cultures cellulaires (cellules COS, cellules CHO, lignées cellulaires de fibroblastes pulmonaires).
Expérience des essais sur plaques à 96 puits et des essais de luminescence.
Formation à la sécurité en laboratoire (SIMDUT), formation à l’utilisation de l’armoire de biosécurité, gestion des déchets dangereux.

A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student at the Master’s or Doctoral level, at McGill University, employed to assist a course Supervisor. Have ideally taken the course in the past.
Experienced with handling of bacteria and cell cultures (COS cells, CHO cells, lung fibroblast cell lines)
Experienced with 96-well plate assays; luminescence assays
Trained in lab safety (WHMIS), Biosafety cabinet training, hazardous waste management.
