The Role:

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Bachelor of Nursing Undergraduate 2nd or 3rd year student to join our RUSON Pool workforce at Northern Health.

 

Northern Health (NH) continues to successfully grow and develop our RUSON workforce.  In partnership with our education department we again offer these employment opportunity to Bachelor or Nursing Undergraduates who have completed a minimum of 12 months of their course.

 

Working as a RUSON will allow you to gain invaluable experience in the hospital setting assisting the nursing team in the delivery of safe and quality patient centred care. You will work under the delegation of an RN and develop and refine your skills in line with your student scope of practice and the RUSON Position description.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • Successfully completed a minimum of 12 months of a Bachelor of Nursing Course
  • Remain registered in the Bachelor of Nursing Course
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care and to work aligned with the Northern Health values 
     

The role of the RUSON is to provide support to the nursing team in the delivery of safe and quality patient centred care. The RUSON is required to work under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse at all times, within their level of education and assessed competencies and also under clearly defined role parameters.

 

In the first instance this role is a 12 month temporary position at a minimum of 2 shifts per fortnight, you will also have the opportunity to be offered extra shifts in line with organisational requirements and your availability. Areas of work may be at any site within Northern Health including The Northern Hospital, Bundoora Campus and Broadmeadows.
