Job Description

The Role

·         Produce and set up the mis en place as required for service for the specified items on the menu, as well as daily specials and other special requests, as                      specified by the chef in charge

·         Assist & follow standards of presentation, quality and portion control in line with the outlet menu presentation folder, recipes and guidelines given by the chef in            charge

·         Ensure that all food production for the various outlets is timely and appropriate.

·         Check pantry, refrigerators and production areas on a regular basis to avoid shortages or excesses of produce. Ensure all food is day-dotted and rotated.

·         Prepare mis en place preparation lists on a daily basis

·         Prepare all menu items by strictly following recipe guide

·         Ensure smooth end of the shift hand over to next employee, including all necessary information of mis en place, stock rotation, daily activities and preparation            requirements given to the chef to start the next shift

·         Follows managers reasonable request ( CDP/ Manager on Duty)

·         Minimise waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost.

·         Assists other Team Members in the kitchen when needed or perform any other tasks assigned by the CDP

To be successfull with us, you will need:

  • Australian recognised trade papers OR Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent with a minimum of 2700 hours of cooking experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Full-time or part-time availability
  • Ability to work as part of a team to deliver quality food and service
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good time management, task prioritisation and resource management
