  • $83K – $88K Plus 15.4% Nominated Super
  • Working in isolated locations attracts allowances above the base salary rate

About the Role

Do you like the warm weather, sunshine and vibrancy of a small city, well Darwin might be a good place to call home.

With plenty of stories to tell, the NT is a great place for a storyteller to gather unique content to be distributed across ABC platforms.

ABC Darwin is looking for a keen and energetic journalist who loves who loves radio and audio demand, to write and sub radio copy and present live to air radio bulletins.

You’ll collaborate and work with the ABC Darwin team to deliver coverage of local and national issues for audiences in the Northern Territory and across the country. You will be supported to:

  • Actively contribute original story ideas and angles in editorial meetings.
  • Write scripts that effectively communicate issues and concepts.
  • Have great voice presentation and style.

The role involves shift and weekend work.

About You

The team will need you to be an experienced journalist and a positive team member with a developing knowledge of local, national and international news issues. You will also need:

  • Accomplished editorial skills and judgment.
  • Ability to break news and develop longer-term coverage plans.
  • A passion for generating original stories for radio and On Demand audiences.
  • Confident broadcast scripting and presentation ability.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
