Warehouse Leading Hand

A national company within the transport and logistics industry is seeking a Leading Hand on afternoon shift (12pm onwards) to join one of their departments located in the Eastern Suburbs. This role is Monday to Friday with flexibility to work on weekends on occasion. Your primary role will be to ensure all loading/unloading dock functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules.

Reporting to the Warehouse 1 Manager, the role includes but not limited to the following responsibilities,

The role:

Supervision and planning of staff

Checking all weight & cubic measurements from load sheets

Liaison with fleet coordinators

Supervision of Loading/Unloading of Trailers/Containers

Be able to plan the day’s loads and accommodate any extra work tasks throughout the day

Investigation of customer complaints, warehouse searches

Ensuring labour allocation to various tasks is recorded accurately and in a timely manner

Maintaining and reporting on KPIs

To hold and conduct tool box meetings

Reporting/monitoring OHS procedures throughout the warehouse.

To apply you will need:

Previous supervisory experience in the transport industry preferably in a FMCG warehouse or transit terminal environment

The ability to supervise the operation on their own

A proven ability to lead, motivate and manage staff

A customer service focus, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong computer, planning and organisational skills

The ability to ensure OHS requirements are met
