The Opportunity
The Monash Business School is structured into seven discipline-based departments (Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Law and Taxation, Econometrics and Business Statistics, Economics, Management, and Marketing) along with the specialist Leadership and Executive Education units and a number of research centres.
A Level A research-only academic is expected to contribute towards the research effort of the university and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to the particular field of research.
The Research Fellow will work closely with researchers at SoDa Labs on key research areas, including supporting academic grade alternative data pipelines (text, images, etc.), develop novel approaches in applied AI, and provide technical documentation and management support to researchers and projects across the lab. The Research Fellow will provide support to key impact objectives of the Lab, particularly associated with the Monash University Impact 2030 strategic research priority around Geopolitical Security. The Research Fellow will also have the opportunity to conduct independent research, leading to potential future grants and scholarly publications. A high level of autonomy will be expected in terms of initiative and the conduct of work. The position will directly contribute to maintaining and extending SoDa platforms, such as the Monash IP Observatory, and other user-facing applications.
The successful appointee will have an honours degree in the relevant discipline area or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
