HR/IR Advisor

GeorgiouGroup has partnered with BMD Construction to deliver the Centenary Bridgeupgrade in Jindalee and are seeking a Human Resources/Industrial Relations (HR/IR)Advisor to join our on-site project team on a permanent basis.

This isa great opportunity for an experienced HR/IR Advisor who thrives in a dynamic,fast-paced environment, to join our project-based team. Our project-based teamand HR team are knowledgeable, have a strong desire to make an impact in their roles,and are always ready for a laugh and are willing to go out of their way to helpeach other.

Reportingto the HR Manager – Eastern Region, you will be trusted to:

  • Manage IR issues on site in line with relevant industrial instruments, legislation, and Georgiou’s policies;
  • Advise on and provide support with HR grievances and complaints, ensuring consistency and adherence to legislation and Georgiou’s values;
  • Support and provide advice to the project-team on union right of entry to the site;
  • Support the project-team in ensuring all HR/IR related contractual commitments are achieved;
  • Provide confidential advice on a broad range of HR matters predominately relating to company policies & procedures, terms & conditions of employment, and employee benefits
  • Develop and implement IR solutions that achieve project objectives
  • Ensure operational and day to day HR requirements of the business throughout all employee lifecycle stages are appropriately met including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, HR management systems.

    What you’re good at:

    Asidefrom having similar exposure in a HR/IR Advisor role, you are a people personand a passionate self-starter with common sense and a high-level of emotionalintelligence, someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating solutions for Industrial Relations issues;
  • An understanding of the current industrial landscape in Queensland;
  • Experience with Fair Work Commission proceedings, including conciliations;
  • Demonstrated IR experience in a unionised industry ;
  • Familiarity with state and federal IR laws, tribunals and Codes of Practice
  • The ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with a wide variety of people, internally and externally, with negotiation and influencing skills;
  • The ability to work independently to prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands; and
  • Ability to interpret legislation, regulations, Awards, enterprise agreements, together with policy and procedures.
