Who is AEMO? 

We are the Australian Energy Market Operator. AEMO’s role is to design and operate a sustainable energy system that provides safe, reliable and affordable electricity and gas today, and to enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians. All Australian governments are now committed to a net-zero economy for Australia by 2050, the first step of which is a net-zero energy system. We are collaborating with industry and other stakeholders to engineer electricity grids that can handle 100 per cent instantaneous renewable generation by 2025. About the role 

The HR advisor role is the first point of contact for all employee queries. You will be working in a fun, inclusive and high paced environment with other passionate HR professionals. If you like variety within your work life then this role is for you. Whether you are partnering in with specialists from the broader People and Culture team on a policies enquiry or providing a new starter with a first-class employee experience. This is superb role for someone who is wanting to start their career in HR and get a broad understanding of HR capabilities. 

This role is available across our AEMO offices in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

What you will be doing  

• Supporting our talented recruitment team with writing job adverts and scheduling interviews 
• Play a key role in delivering an engaging experience across the employee life cycle. From creating letter of offers, managing the onboarding, cross-boarding, initiating learning and development activities. 
• Updating our HR Information systems to ensure they reflect the people changes 
• Talking to our employees by providing advice on HR processes and policies 
• Working with the broader HR Services team to implement best practices in employee experience

• A superb multi-tasker- previous experience managing multiple agendas 
• Loves systems. Hands – on experience with IT Programs and systems 
• Knowledge guru of employment legislation 
• Enjoys excelling in being practical and logical; being able to solve problems quickly
