ABOUT THE ROLE

The Teacher – Nursing Clinical Placement provides professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.
 
This position focuses on excellence in planning and conducting teaching and assessment within the clinical placement environment. The role also includes resource development and educational administration.

The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Nursing and Allied Health business area and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student centred services for the Nursing and Allied Health team.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Delivering training, assessment and supervision within the clinical placement environment for Diploma of Nursing students.
  • Validating and reviewing the completed clinical placement logbooks submitted by students within the program.
  • Moderating and validating the clinical placement logbooks for students within the Diploma of Nursing course.
  • Designing and developing high quality teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying learning styles.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning.
  • Enhancing the student experience to improve engagement early on and assist learners to interact with their academic and social environment to prevent attrition and to encourage success.
  • Engaging with employers and industry representatives to adapt teaching materials and content to meet industry and employer needs and are current.
  • Completing workplace visits during placements to support students and enhance learner skills.
  • ABOUT YOU

    You will have relevant tertiary qualifications as follows:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or qualifications that meet the RTO Standards
  • Vocational qualifications at AQF level Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
  • A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver
  • A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
  • You will have the ability to quickly develop rapport with students and colleagues from a diverse background in a collaborative and innovative environment.
