Job Description

As our Senior HR Consultant, you will: 

• Support management and Principal HR Consultants to provide quality advice to executives, management, staff and stakeholders on workplace performance, conduct, employee grievance and discipline matters, including applicable legislation, policies, systems and practices• Participate in the coordination and management of allocated workplace integrity and employee relations matters, initiatives and projects either individually, or as part of a team to assist address current workforce management issues
• Provide accurate and timely advice and consultancy services to management and staff focussing on delivering effective solutions that support a high performing, flexible and constructive work environment• Ensure currency of technical and expert knowledge during periods of change and disruption to assist the team provide influential advice and support services to our executive, management and staff on industrial relations, workplace performance, conduct and discipline matters • Participate in the collection, analysis and reporting of organisational data to meet reporting requirements relating to conduct and performance, discipline and employee complaints as required by executive management and by external agencies• Maintain sound knowledge of current HR legislation, awards, certified agreements, directives, policies and procedures, including the CaPE framework, to support the timely and evidence-based advice that assist positive service delivery outcomes• Prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence in relation to a range of HR issues. Present and facilitate briefings and workshops for management and staff where required• Build and maintain professional relationships and networks with officers from DAF, other agencies, unions, PSC, OIR and other external parties. Create working partnerships that produce understanding of client needs and ensure quality fit for purpose advice and service, targeting employee and industrial relations, integrity and conduct matters, and grievance and complaint related areas What you will bring • To be successful in this role you must have proven experience in case management of integrity and employee relations matters and the provision of contemporary employee relations advice to senior managers across matters including employee grievances, discipline, investigations and performance management in accordance with the Public Service Act 2008/ Public Sector Act 2022. • While not mandatory, tertiary or post graduate qualifications in human resource management, law, public administration or related areas would be well regarded.
