Full-Time

$173,700 per annum inclusive of superannuation

WALGA is amplifying its marketing and member engagement and we are seeking a Manager Marketing to lead the in-house marketing team.

The Manager Marketing will lead the cross discipline marketing function, providing expert advice to our varied portolios of Advocacy, Infrastructure, Member Services and Policy. A highly visible role within the business, the Manager Marketing will work closely with senior staff and stakeholders, and in-house media, content and communications professionals, whilst leading a team of digital, CRM, events, research and marketing professionals.

This position is a leadership role in the Advocacy team, which is responsible for amplifying the voice and enhancing the profile and perception of WALGA and the Local Government sector, through contemporary internal and external communications, marketing, stakeholder relations (including member engagement and government relations), events and media.

  • Drive the growth and expertise of the marketing capability in WALGA, working on everything from sector-wide brand campaigns to member service marketing.
  • Develop and implement an integrated, whole-of-organisation marketing strategy to increase sector profile and credibility and expand service delivery.
  • Lead exciting digital transformation projects including new website build, Marketing Technology implementation and CRM transformation projects.
  • Work alongside senior members of the team with significant experience in media and government.
  • Drive the delivery of a new Stakeholder Engagement Model across digital, research, events, advocacy and marketing.
  • Join our Advocacy team, with exciting strategic initiatives planned and underway.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a B2B environment and/ or agency.
  • Experience in government or highly regulated industry (desired).
  • Extensive understanding of marketing strategy, campaign development and reporting.
  • Able to proficiently understand and apply commercial and member/customer insights into tangible marketing.
  • Proven experience in complex stakeholder management.
  • Extensive experience in strategy development with an insights and data led approach and reporting.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and build a collaborative team environment, with a strong initiative, attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
