  • THE OPPORTUNITY

    The Hospitality, Cookery and Bakery Department at Holmesglen are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Stores Assistant to their friendly team at Holmesglen’s Waverley campus.

    The position is an active hands-on role in the Holmesglen stores department.

    Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the storage, hygiene, and preparation of food products, along with monitoring equipment for the department.
  • Assemble products required for each lesson and return items after each lesson to the stores department, including all fresh and frozen food, dry goods, beverages, and equipment.
  • The distribution of equipment and stock to kitchens, food service areas and stores areas.
  • Maintaining a safe learning environment by demonstrating correct carrying and storage techniques.
  • Cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities.
  • Receiving, storage and rotation of goods.
  • Reporting on a weekly basis if equipment requires cleaning or maintenance and repairing.
  • ABOUT YOU

  • Good interpersonal & communication skills with students, teachers, general staff, and external suppliers.
  • Experience using hygiene practices in a kitchen environment.
  • Purchasing of goods and stock management experience.
  • Strong practical skills in the handling and storage of food.
  • Must be organised and have good time management skills.
  • Knowledge in OH&S and food safety principles.
  • Current food safety qualification / certificate.
