An opportunity exists for a qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable Catering Department. 

As a Chef your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
  • Meal and food preparation for patients as per recipe guide
  • Maintain food stock levels
  • Maintain regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards
  • Implement Food Safety Program
  • Liaise with management and facility staff

St Helen’s Private Hospital has been providing high quality healthcare to Hobart and the broader community since 1919, and is located in the picturesque Hobart CBD. It features a 31 bed inpatient unit and Mother-Baby unit, as well as a variety of outpatient day programmes and outpatient care opportunities.

Selection Criteria:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cooking
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
  •  Safe Food Handling Certificate (desirable)
  • Available for shifts over a 7 day roster including weekend work
  • Experience in hospital or hotel food service environment preferred
