JOB DESCRIPTION

To solve important problems we need to aim for the inclusion of our diverse talent. We empower our people to use their creativity, authenticity and human differences to be the champions of change. We know that when people from diverse backgrounds and with different points of view work together, we create the most value – for our clients, our people and our society. If you don’t think you quite meet all of the qualifications, we’d still love to hear from you.

About Us

Today’s world isn’t simple. The challenges facing business and society are complex. At PwC, we’ve created ‘The New Equation’ as our global strategy to address the breadth and complexity of challenges facing businesses and society. We’re combining everything we offer in new, creative ways. This builds trust, delivers sustained outcomes and helps clients solve their most important problems.

We know those challenges need to be looked at from a new angle. With your human ingenuity, passion and experience combined with the latest technology, these problems become easier to tackle. Together, we are a passionate community of solvers coming together in unexpected ways, creating new solutions for a new day.

In our IT Audit team our focus is on creating effective and efficient design for the most important business, security and compliance processes for our clients. We touch on aspects of application security, areas prone to fraud and financial misstatement, and streamline processes that are part of our client’s core business so they can get a higher return on this key investment. Using innovative, and proprietary technologies, we help to bridge the gap between business stakeholders, compliance functions and Information Technology teams to assist in understanding how to embrace new ways of working, while limiting their financial and operational risk profile. We use knowledge of financial system design, risk mitigation, business process design, data integrity, security and use of data analytics.

At PwC Canberra, we combine local and global expertise, public sector experience and people-focused purpose to help the federal government make life better for our communities. As a Senior Consultant in our IT Audit team your impact will be seen by:

  • Assessing operational efficiency and effectiveness through in-depth assessments that leverage tactical IT controls (e.g. database), automated controls and system generated report

  • Optimizing technology control activities, technology and operational strategy, and related policies and procedures

  • Providing assurance on the IT related controls and controls readiness projects that are associated with internal and external audits

  • Strong experience in finance systems and delivering finance-related projects

About you

You hold an understanding of the complexity around technology issues and how to solve them from strategy to execution. You have an interest in developing your skills in IT Audit including IT General Control (ITGC) reviews, automated controls, system-generated reports, internal audits and service organization controls reports.

Experience in the public sector will be highly regarded.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our Trust & Risk practice transform how risk is perceived and capitalized on.

You’re collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You’re a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

Please note this role is based in Canberra. Due to the nature of the work, you must be an Australian citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government issued security clearance.

Life at PwC

Our culture and benefits are something we’re proud of, and also the reason we’ve been named LinkedIn’s #1 Australian workplace. With PwC, you’ll belong to an inclusive community where differences are both embraced and the underlying driver in everything we create together.

We empower you with the technology, coaching, flexibility and trust needed to make a meaningful difference, while supporting you in bringing your whole self to work each day. We’re committed to building and maintaining a diverse workforce because we know it’s only by working together that we can realise the potential of our people, clients and society around us.

We’re living this commitment through initiatives including our Reconciliation Action Plan to increase Indigenous employment and employee-led diversity networks promoting cultural, disability, LGBTI and gender equality. At our core we’re a people business, which means you’ll be supported not just in your professional development but your personal growth as well.

Shibanni Dave is the Recruitment Manager for the role. As the team experience high volumes of applications, we appreciate your patience to allow for a timely and fair process for all.
