Insitu Pacific delivers industry-leading uncrewed aerial system (UAS) services to Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Our expertise, operational experience, and knowledge has established Insitu Pacific as a key provider of end-to-end advanced multi-domain ISR solutions.

We are currently looking to recruit a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Maintenance Technician to be located in Alderley, Insitu Pacific head office is less than 10 minutes’ drive from Army’s Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera, and 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD.

The Opportunity

As the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing operational maintenance – scheduled and unscheduled, of company RPAS to enable safe flight operations for Insitu Pacific customers and internal projects, at domestic and international locations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Operational maintenance activities in order to meet system serviceability requirements, including detailed administration of maintenance actions and reporting of system maintenance status.
  • Interpret, adhere to and apply system maintenance publications in order to perform safe maintenance taskings, as well as review and provide feedback / improvement requests to advance system capability.
  • Perform maintenance quality inspection duties to ensure system maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with published procedures.
  • Maintenance logistics planning to meet scheduled servicing requirements to sustain flight operations.
  • Operate in a multi-crew work environment while performing maintenance and ground crew duties.
  • Apply system configuration management.
  • Maintenance of personal qualification currency requirements and proficiency on system, with minimal to no procedural or administrative errors, while adhering to Company policy and procedures.

To be successful in the role you will require the following experience/qualifications:

  • Certificate IV of Aeroskills (Mechanical, Avionics) or higher; or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or higher.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of RPAS, covering air vehicle, ground system components (e.g. ground control stations, launch and recovery) and ground support equipment (e.g. Fuelling systems, tooling and test equipment).
  • Information Technology knowledge and skills covering applications, hardware and networking.
  • Strong aviation maintenance safety culture, with unwavering attention to detail and adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and productive customer relationships and address customer expectations.
  • Ability to engage with Company stakeholders and departments (e.g. Maintenance Controller, Engineering, Production) to provide operational input, assessment and feedback on systems for continuous improvement or sustainability.
  • Ability to deploy and operate in remote national and international (potentially hazardous) locations for up to 1 month at a time. Austere environments may exhibit extreme hot or cold conditions.
  • Personal alignment with Insitu Pacific’s Values.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and effective adaptation to varying interpersonal styles and norms across cultures.
  • Required to have the physical and psychological capacity to safely and effectively undertake the inherent requirements of this role without risk of harm to self or others (ongoing health surveillance is required).

Desirable skills include:

  • RePL and AROC
  • RPAS Maintenance and/or Pilot qualification on Company’s RPAS Platforms (ScanEagle, ScanEagle 2, Integrator, CT220).
  • Ability to deploy and operate in locations that may exceed one month.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
