Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. 

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.   

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

What you bring:

  • Supervises material control operations of personnel assigned to the project temporary operating and jobsite locations to ensure conformance to corporate, global business unit and project policies and procedures in all disciplines and functional areas for which material management is responsible including:

           -The receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control (manual and/or automated), physical security and issue of materials and equipment.

           -Identifying the need and completing the action for all unsatisfactory, over, short and damaged material and equipment received at project temporary operating and jobsite locations.

           -Initiating actions to identify and dispose of material and equipment that is declared excess to project needs by project management.

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of initial organizational charts for material control activities at temporary operating locations. Submits proposed changes for approval of the Project Field Procurement Manager (PFPM)
  • Assists Project Field Procurement Manager in preparing Field Procurement workhour estimates. Monitors employee utilization throughout the duration of the project, recommending applicable changes to the PFPM.
  • Assists the PFPM in staffing project temporary operating and jobsite locations. Recommends long-range personnel requirements and assists PFPM in coordinating the timely staffing of required positions.
  • Prepares recommendations for facilities and equipment necessary to provide for professional material management operations at project temporary and jobsite locations, as specifically directed by the PFPM. This activity begins as early as practical in the planning stages and continues throughout the project.
  • Assists in the preparation of procedures and instructions establishing material control responsibilities and methods of operations pertaining to material management activities at project temporary operating and jobsite locations. This responsibility specifically includes but is not limited to project procedures, which must be in compliance with approved Integrated Work Process Procedures with approved variations if required.
  • Continually reviews performance at the temporary operating and jobsite locations in order to validate personnel staffing requirements and determine that performance conforms to standards as reflected in project Procurement procedures and jobsite instructions.
  • Assists PFPM in establishing and monitoring a continuing program to dispose of surplus materials and equipment as it is identified as excess to project needs by project management.
  • Implements on-going training program for assigned personnel

 

About you:

  • Knowledge of materials management automated systems, interfaces between systems, and how data is shared and managed.
  • Ability to blend materials management with project work packaging strategy.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the full scope of materials management functions on a construction project, including personnel required to execute known workload.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Broad understanding of standard field procurement procedures, including knowing the requirements set forth in the Integrated Work Process Procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of the Bechtel Procurement System (BPS), Look-Ahead Viewer, Bucksheet, and T&L Modules.
  • Advanced knowledge of work packaging and materials status reporting
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the EPC industry
  • Demonstrated experience in directing or leading professional and craft professionals workforces
  • Ability to travel frequently to the jobsite and work in a camp environment.

 

Additional Information:

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco – are permitted to be brought to the site.  

This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
