The Practice
In a word… Standout!  A privately owned (and private billing) GP clinic located on the entrance to the Mornington Peninsula.  A large group of 16 GPs including the sole owner, + Allied Health contribute to a top quality, well respected, smooth operation.  New patients are regularly joining their stellar group and the recent, and gorgeous, refurbishment/expansion of the practice firmly places this practice in the top echelon of primary health providers in the South Eastern/Peninsula precinct.

The Opportunity
Assistant Practice Manager/Senior Receptionist – As the name suggests, this is a management position (and yes, you will also perform reception duties some of the time, as this is what a ‘good manager’ does for their team)  The role works in collaboration with a truly dedicated and passionate Practice Manager who has brilliantly steered the ship for the past six years, and counting.  Not unsurprisingly, she needs and extra pair of ‘people management’ hands to continue the practice’s upward trajectory. 

The Assistant Practice Manager/Senior Receptionist expertly manages the large admin team ensuring diligent follow up, identifying and implementing training and development, performance appraisals/mentoring and guidance, modelling of performance standards and holds the key to effective communication within the team, between teams (clinical and admin) and from senior management. The role juggles a lot but at the heart of its success is someone who loves people and can build robust, authentic and psychologically safe relationships with those who report to them.

Key Criteria 

  • Current/recent management/leadership within primary healthcare or similar
  • Seriously good communication and developed interpersonal skills
  • Understands the complex operating environment of primary healthcare – medicare, PIPs, Accreditation, supplier agreements, consumables management and ordering etc
  • A track record and passion for developing high performing, connected teams
  • Confidence with modern technologies and troubleshooting capabilities (for those times when the day falls apart because the printer won’t work)!

Salary & Benefits
Yes, of course there is an attractive hourly rate/annual salary package. The role is offered four days per week (but can be considered full time for the ‘right’ candidate) Parking onsite is also offered and you get to enjoy a stunningly refurbished and really spacious clinic.  The staff kitchen is a hub – all staff are foodies and love coffee so the kitchen is a central social zone with many choosing to take lunch and breaks together.  But if you did want to venture out, you have a bustling shopping precinct situated just across the road!
